Your favorite moment practicing as a lawyer:  In 2012, I was asked to work on a case involving the death of a limestone miner who had fallen from a conveyor our client had built.  We tried the case 8 months after I joined this firm, and I was lucky enough to be able to perform meaningful work on every remaining aspect of that case prior to trial even though I was still new to the firm.  It was apparent that the miner and his employer were at fault for the tragic accident because of their failure to follow standard safety rules, and our client was being sued simply in hopes that a jury would award some portion of the $13 million in claimed damages.  After a two week trial with over 25 witnesses, my favorite moment practicing law was when the jury returned its unanimous defense verdict after less than thirty minutes deliberating.  It was refreshing to see a jury come to the right decision and to see our hard work pay off for our client.
